Dyson DC24 Review
I thought I would write this Dyson DC24 review as I have just bought the Dyson DC24 and I am VERY happy with it! I recently moved from a largish 3 bedroom house to a more compact 2 bedroom apartment, and I didn’t really want to have lug around my oversized upright (which is also a Dyson). But the main reason for choosing the Dyson DC24 specifically is that I wanted a vacuum cleaner with good suction power for tiled floors as well as carpets, as my Persian cat moults a lot in warm weather! It also needed to be compact enough for a small storage area.
I have to say I am very impressed with the DC24’s performance overall – it is very powerful, and extremely lightweight. I was a bit surprised when I first got it, as it really is very small, especially when you’re used to bigger upright models as I am, I was a little worried this may affect its power, but it is a huge bonus as no doubt this is why it is so light. And it makes it super easy to get into all those difficult to reach spots, with great suction power. I was very surprised at how well the Dyson DC24 coped with big balls of matted fur; it just sucked them up whole, no problem.
Dyson DC24 Ball
For me, the best thing about the Dyson DC24 is its ball feature! Rather than moving on 4 wheels, it rolls on a ball pivot which enables you to manoeuvre practically anywhere in your home without having to move furniture around. You can easily get under tables, under and around chairs – even around sleeping cats! I think the Dyson DC24 ball is just fantastic!
Another fabulous feature on the Dyson DC24 animal is that you can adapt the handle to function as a cleaning wand for high or awkward places. You simply stick it onto the hose and away you go. This is quite impressive as it allows you to clean the tops of curtains and around light fittings without having to stand on chairs.
I also like the fact that the Dyson DC24 is a doddle to empty. It has a push button that releases the dust chamber, and then you simply empty it over a bin. I admit that the chamber isn’t massive, but it’s more than big enough for my apartment, even when it’s stuffed with cat fur. And the fact is, it’s just no hassle to empty it if you need to.
I am more than happy with my Dyson DC24 Animal for its ease of use, power and manoeuvrability around my apartment, but I also think it would be equally good in a larger house, especially for people with mobility restrictions. It is so lightweight that vacuuming stairs would not be a problem for anyone.
I can’t recommend the Dyson DC24 enough. I am doubly happy as I think I got the cheapest Dyson DC24 around! I know you can pay in excess of £300, but if you take a look at the price comparison table at the top of this page, you can find a few Dyson DC24 best price deals.
